Dana Boltersdorf  E-RYT  YACEP

DANA%20Headshot1_edited.jpg

A native New Yorker, Dana was first introduced to yoga while in college.

Her curiosity brought her to study Yoga’s history, philosophy and Ayurveda, India’s system of medicine and self-care.

In 2012 the journey of practice led her onto the path of teacher, earning initially Yoga Alliance’s RYT200 certification at Leesburg’s Flow Yoga Studio and continuing an additional 400 hours at various yoga schools.

With studies in anatomy and biomechanics, Yin yoga, Pre/ Postnatal and Restorative Yoga, her passion led her further to learn how yoga and breath work is successfully being used as an adjunctive therapy for trauma and PTSD.

Dana attended the Trauma Centered Yoga intensive with David Emerson, founder of Trauma Centered-Sensitive Yoga for Justice Resource Institute, Ma. and Beloved Yoga’s Trauma Sensitive Yoga certification in Reston Va. with Heather Hagaman and Maryam Ovissi.

With a joyful sense of humor and laughter she is eager to show how this 4000 year old system of breathing and moving produces a positive state of health and wellbeing in our bodies and minds and that everyone - at any age, has the ability “do” yoga.

She has had the privilege of studying with many teachers.

Locally with Marcia Hoffheins, Coleen Clemons, Maryam Ovissi, Ileana Gonzalez, Heather Hagaman, and Doug Keller.

Traveling to workshops lead by Sarah Powers, Kelly Adkins, Amy Weintraub, Paul Grilley and Bernie Clark!

Off the mat - she loves traveling and connecting with all people, masterfully cooking magical feasts and as a voracious reader hiding out in her home library!

The outdoors calls her to hiking and cycling with her husband Greg by day and astronomy by night.

They have two amazing sons, Zach and Dan and are “owned” by two silly Labs, Guinness and Tara.
